A 60-year legacy of quality and service

Family-owned and operated since 1949, our company has a reputation for innovation – and for quality that’s as solid and dependable as the products we make.

1949
Humble beginnings
Atlas Block starts off with a handful of employees
manufacturing concrete blocks in a barn in Toronto’s
west end.

1964
A strategic move
In order to tap into the Central Ontario construction
boom, operations are relocated to Victoria Harbour,
near Midland, Ontario.

1980s
A decade of growth and expansion
Two additional manufacturing plants open in Orillia
(1985) and Brockville (1989).

1990
New products, new market
Our first landscaping products are introduced to
the market; Atlas Block’s new retaining walls are
an exciting step in a new direction.

1995
Our first veneers
Century Stone concrete veneers are developed in
our Brockville plant.

1997
The innovation continues
Our first tumbled retaining wall system hits the
market. The AB Europa Collection is an immediate
success with contractors and landscapers looking
for quality and great-looking style.

1999
Sturdy, secure fencing
We begin production of our first concrete
fencing system.

2008
The evolution of concrete
Through extensive R&D, we discover something
exciting: a way to use recycled blue box glass in the
manufacture of concrete products. (We always knew
that concrete would save the world someday…)

2009
Atlas Block goes GREEN
We’re proud to be the first concrete manufacturer to use
post-consumer recycled waste in EVERY product we
make. Now, all our products include post-consumer and
post-industrial recycled content and supplementary
cementing materials, resulting in the greenest product
offering on the market.
