CarbonCure® is a concrete block manufacturing process that allows us to remove carbon dioxide from the air and inject it into our concrete products. This achieves several incredible goals, all in one process:
- It uses waste carbon dioxide in production to get it out of our atmosphere
- It produces less carbon dioxide than traditional concrete product manufacturing
- It requires less energy during production by using lower steam curing temperatures
- It strengthens our products by converting carbon dioxide to limestone
Smaller carbon footprint means a concretely positive environmental impact.
Sounds good, doesn’t it? It’s not just good for the environment: all of these factors result in a product of higher quality!
Strength and beauty – concrete products both green and strong
Even though our products have gone green, they certainly haven’t gone soft. CarbonCure® masonry blocks actually achieve greater strength earlier in the manufacturing process and meet all specifications for weight, compression strength, absorption, and shrinkage.
