Our Team

Don Gordon, CEO

At the helm of Atlas Block for the past 30 years, Don has kept the Atlas Block entrepreneurial spirit alive and well!  His passion for business, for people and for the concrete industry keeps us moving quickly in new directions and always looking for new ways to add value for our customers.  Don has been heavily involved in the industry throughout his 30 years, currently sitting as Treasurer on the CCMPA (Canadian Concrete Masonry Producers Association) and past chair on the NCMA (National Concrete Masonry Association).  Don also represents the CCMPA as a member of the A165 Committee of CSA, responsible for determining the physical and performance attributes on concrete masonry units.

Laura Vaughan, President

Laura Vaughan officially joined Atlas Block in 2006, but as Don’s daughter and third generation owner, she has “grown up” in the business.  After earning an Honours degree in Music Performance from the University of Western Ontario, a Master’s in Management and Professional Accounting from the University of Toronto, and then her CA designation, Laura ultimately decided to join the family business in a leadership role, overseeing sales and marketing, operations, human resources and finance.

Mark Vaughan, Vice-President Operations

Mark Vaughan joined Atlas Block in 2007.  Mark’s background includes a BA and Bachelor in Education from York University, 8 years of experience in outdoor education at Pioneer Camp and Port Hacking Outdoor Education Centre (Australia), and 6 years of experience in Information Technology management at a mid-sized, Ontario manufacturing company.  Mark’s process-oriented mind and project management skills saw us through our capital expansion phase in Hillsdale.  He now oversees our entire operations.
